Haci Sakirler Mansion

Our mansion is cited by the name of 4 generations and 155 years of age “Haci Sakirler Mansion” Looking at the architectural style of our mansion we can tell that is build by a Bektashi builder. The owner of the mansion, Haci Sakir Dede had worked for Ottoman Bank at the last era of Ottoman Empire. After his retirement he had started walnut trading.

It is said that Haci Sakir Dede had also owned an office in Istanbul. He was famous by his handmade English felt hat. Today the hat is exhibited in Haci Sakirler Mansion. Silk production was made in our mansion thus there are mulberry trees in its garden. Six roomed mansion reflects the traditional Turkish architectural characteristics. During its restoration the original features has been protected. Upper level rooms are more for summer time while lower level rooms are built with low ceilings suitable for winter conditions. Ecologic vegetables are planted in the garden. The mansion with its unique furniture is an ethnographic museum.
