A historic Turkish konak rebuilt with grand flourish on the edge of an attractive park outside Bursa. The park brings together several impressively re-created models of old architecture, recycled as restaurants and shops, around a cobble-stoned courtyard. Around it lie the municipal gardens and the zoo. It is a boon to wake up to chirruping birds and to be able to take a bike ride through well-kept woods and lawns so close to the heart of one of Turkeys largest industrial cities.

The interior of the hotel makes a half-hearted effort to keep up the "historic" theme: the spirit is closer here to New Turkey than to the more refined charms of Old. The rooms are large and furnished with all mod cons. The more expensive suites offer marbled Turkish baths and larger-than-king-size beds. The staff is politely efficient.
In summer, the hotel lawn is very often used for wedding receptions. A good restaurant and a well-appointed health spa with warmed indoor pool are among the facilities on offer.
